IT ALL STARTED ONLINE…

In 2010, high school friends Kevin Abstract (Ian Simpson) and Ameer Vann decided to recruit a rap collective because, in Abstract’s words, “I had no friends”.

Named after the street Abstract grew up on, the new, self-proclaimed “Best Boyband Since One Direction” set out to redefine the terma collective of gay, straight, black, white, all-inclusive, ambitious would-be pop stars.

With a roster of over 15 members at their peakdesigners, videographers, and effects crew includedBROCKHAMPTON went on to release six studio albums between 2016 and 2021.

Perhaps their most notable work is 2017’s Saturation trilogy, a collection of forty-eight tracks which garnered mainstream recognition and well-deserved hype.

The group would go on to release three more albums before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2022. These include 2018’s Iridescence, 2019’s Ginger, and 2021’s Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine.

With two final back-to-back albums released in late 2022 (The Family and TM), the road has ended for BROCKHAMPTON.
